Front Desk Cashier
Role Description
The Hillsboro Antique Mall is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and friendly cashiers who have extensive customer service or retail experience. The cashier position consists of using a cash register and other related equipment to process cash, credit, and check transactions, as well providing an excellent customer service experience.
The Front Desk Cashier will:
- Provide a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service
- Accurately record purchases in point of sale system and operates a cash register
- Process customer transactions by handling cash, check, and charge payments and making change for customers
- Itemize and totals purchases by recording prices, dealer codes, taxable and nontaxable items
- Receive rent payments and provide previews of dealer sales
- Balance cash drawers by counting cash at beginning and end of shifts
- Resolve customer issues and answers questions
- Negotiate offers between customers and dealers
- Handle, wrap, and bag customer merchandise with care and thought
- Open and close shifts according to company procedure
- Restock front desk supplies and gift merchandise
- Answer incoming calls and direct customers as needed
- Coordinate between management and floor staff
- Understand company policies and procedures and serves as a point person for all customer and dealer inquiries
Qualifications
- Must have a high degree of integrity, be dependable, and participate as a team member to achieve common goals
- Attention to detail
- Friendly and positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Typing and basic level computer literacy
- Use of a 10-key calculator
- Ability to be on your feet for extended periods (5-6 hour periods)
- Ability to bend and lift heavy items (up to 30 pounds)
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays (including Christmas)
Floor Sales Associate
Role Description
The Hillsboro Antique Mall is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and friendly sales associates who have extensive customer service or retail experience. The sales associate position consists of driving sales, handling merchandise and case keys, and maintaining a professional, positive attitude for an excellent customer service experience.
The Floor Sales Associate will:
- Provide security and maintain a professional and helpful presence in their assigned sections
- Handle keys and unlocking of showcases for customers and dealers
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
- Actively seek out customers and welcome them to the store, answering any questions as needed
- Stays knowledgeable about the range and location of antiques, collectibles, and vintage pieces in-store
- Recommend merchandise according to the customer’s needs to enrich the shopping experience
- Restock merchandise in store gift area
- Goes the “extra mile” to drive sales
- Knowledgeable of available discounts and negotiation opportunities on qualified merchandise
- Basic cleaning and tidying of assigned sections
- Handle antiques, fine jewelry, and delicate merchandise with care and thought
- Alert management to suspicious activity or security threats
- Maintain a calm and confident presence when directing customers in the event of a store emergency or drilldealer inquiries
